Vacation Spots To Bet On Sports

From coast to coast, the United States offers some fantastic gambling for bettors of almost any skill level. Now, most of our readers are probably thinking that Las Vegas and Atlantic City are the only places worth visiting on a vacation, but in all honesty there is little that is further from the truth. Even though Sin City is definitely the most popular gambling destination in the world, here are a few other notable gambling vacation spots in the United States.

Ft Lauderdale, Florida

Even though the state of Florida has not fully legalized casino gambling, the Harrah’s Casino in Ft Lauderdale (owned by the Seminole Indians) is one of the nicest in the country. Combine that with daily horse racing at Gulfstream Park, the various dog tracks, bingo halls, sportsbooks, and poker rooms, cruises, riverboats, and Jai Alai (a must see!), you’ll see why this tropical paradise ranks high as a gambling vacation spot.

The Bahamas

If you happen to hit up Ft. Lauderdale for the week, then you might as well hop a ten flight over to the Bahamas and check out Paradise Island. The Atlantis casino is built atop an actual coral reef, so ground-floor residents actually have the best aquarium view in the world right beneath them. Imagine waking up and seeing a 50 foot shark circling below your bed…it is intense to say the least.

The Mississippi River

Starting in Minnesota and traveling all the way to the Gulf of Mexico, the Mississippi River is by far the longest body of water in North America. Various states use that to their advantage to bypass state the gaming laws with riverboat gambling, which is exactly as you’d probably expect it to be. Although many of the riverboats are stationary and do not actually haul you up and down the Mississippi anymore, it is still great gambling with some of the best house odds inside the US.

Foxwood Resorts

Foxwood is actually home to the largest casino inside the United States, which may appear kind of strange since it’s located in Connecticut. This resort area is spectacular though and a great place for the entire family to kick back and relax. There are dozens of places to gamble within walking distance and the rates are very affordable as well.

Atlantic City

Atlantic City is a small island just off of the Jersey shoreline and it has been one of the premiere vacation spots in the US for decades now. The casino action is also top notch and may be considered second only to Las Vegas in terms of luxury, so it is definitely worth a visit while you’re inside the US. Interestingly, there are no brick and mortar sportsbooks in AC. Players who want to bet on sports have no other option that to deposit using echecks at an online Sportsbook like BetEd.

Other Places of Interest

As you know, we’ve intentionally left Las Vegas off of our list of gambling vacation spots because you already know about it one way or the other. Vegas is like no other city in the world, so if you have a chance then definitely go experience Sin City for a weekend. Other top places of interest for gambling in the US would be New Orleans or Reno, but there is actually legalized gambling within 46 of the 50 states. No matter where you go, there’s likely going to be a casino or horse track nearby.
